Purpose Statement

What We’re All About

Live a Little Day School started as just a thought, as all things do. I watered the thought and fed the thought until it grew into what it is now: an opportunity to serve, learn, connect, educate, prosper, grow, and so much more. This Day School will continue to be nurtured by myself, the employees, the children, the parents, and supporters so that it may flourish and reap rewards to all those that encompass it. The children attending Live a Little Day School will be watered, fed, and nurtured in the same way, so that they grow from Little Seeds to Mighty Trees.
Our goal is to encourage your children to learn through play while fostering their imagination, independence, sense of self, and holistic health. We will explore age-appropriate activities and discussions in traditional education topics, emotions, art, music, nature, communication, physical skills, and social skills. Our care providers are trained to have a mindful parenting approach, and to seize every opportunity of a teachable moment. It takes a village to raise a child and we want to be a part of yours!

Qualifications

This in-home day care is licensed and inspected by Alabama DHR. Our meals are monitored by the Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP). The director has 12 years experience caring for children and four children of her own. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama focusing in social work. Before opening her home to child care she worked in court offices for abused youth, group foster homes, and at Morgan County DHR. Each caregiver hired is vetted by DHR as well as the director. They have passed background checks, CAN clearances, and have continuous training in child welfare and related areas. Your children are more than safe in our hands, they are THRIVING!
